On December 28, 2024, a cybersecurity incident was discovered involving the cloud-hosted PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) of an undisclosed number of schools. St. Mary's Academy was one of those schools impacted by this incident, but PowerSchool informed us that the data downloaded by the threat actor was permanently deleted.
However, PowerSchool is contacting parents, guardians, and educators who were affected by the breach with information to sign up for two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. This is optional.
It appears emails started being sent out on February 27, 2025, and the deadline for signing up for an account is May 30, 2025. Note: This is only for people who received the email from PowerSchool.
