When you receive your iPad, it will already be preconfigured for Outlook Mail, Schoology, and the other Apps at the bottom of the home screen. These Apps can be moved to other locations or folders but for the Tech Camp training we put all these at the bottom.
- Settings - Allows for changing how the iPad best works for you such as connecting to Wi-Fi, changing various notifications, sounds, etc., and updating the iPad to the latest version of iPadOS.
- Safari - Internet Browser
- Outlook - Email linked to Microsoft 365 account
- Notability - Screenwriting and drawing tool (and so much more)
- Schoology - Learning Management System (Homework, Assignments, Quizzes, etc.)
- OneDrive - Online file storage and sharing App. Linked to Microsoft 365 account.
- Files - Online iCloud file storage for the school-managed Apple ID of the iPad (photos, backups, etc.)
- Teams - Chat and video collaboration App. Linked to Microsoft 365 account.
- Tech Help** - Searchable SMA technical support website for answers to frequently asked questions.
- Daily Bulletin** - Daily schedule and important information about the events of the day/week.
At some point, the iPad will ask to set up your passcode and thumbprint. Go ahead and do so to help keep your iPad secure. Make sure you set a passcode you will remember.
Open your Outlook App at the bottom of the home screen. There will be information in there about setting up accounts for other Apps like Adobe, "Tech Camps", and more that will be forthcoming if they haven't already been sent.
Note: There are many more Apps (over 40) that are pushed out to all student iPads from the school. The ones noted above are important that you will use right away.
** The Tech Help and Daily Bulletin buttons will move around when there are updates to them so they may disappear from the bottom of the home screen but will still be somewhere on the iPad.
