Our email system does an excellent job of identifying spam (or "junk" like advertising you didn't sign up for), phishing (usually a link to have you enter personal, login, passwords, etc. for identity theft), and malware (attachments that may compromise your device when opened). However, some do get through from time to time. So here is what to do when you receive one of these emails:
For the desktop versions of Outlook (Windows and macOS), click on the suspicious email, go up to the “ribbon” and click on the Report Message (or Report) icon. Select Report Phishing. If prompted, send information to Microsoft.
For the web browser version of Outlook, you have the option in the menu bar just above the email list. You can also right-click the email, select Report, then choose Report Junk or Report Phishing.
For iPad version of Outlook, open the email, tap the "..." at the bottom, and select Report Phishing.
Important Note: If the spam or phishing email was sent to you from a trusted source, we recommend contacting them either by phone or by sending a new email letting them know. DO NOT reply to the suspected spam email, as their account may have been compromised.
If you have any questions, please submit a request above or email SMA Help Desk.
