For those that have been authorized to work remotely the school does have a VPN option that is secure allowing a limited number of devices to connect to our internal network. It also provides safe internet use when on public/unsecure networks. Devices are automatically configured to utilize VPN (in most cases). For more information or connection issues please submit a request above to Tech Help @ SMA.
Note: The use of 3rd party VPN (even if paid) on school owned devices is not allowed to ensure security and privacy.
VPN Errors and Resolving
Problem: "The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer."
Solution: Reboot your home internet router and then try connecting again.

Problem: "The connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed."
Solution: Reboot your laptop.

Problem: Troubleshooting steps above didn't resolve the problem.
Solution: Bring your laptop to the Tech Office next time you are on campus so we can investigate.
