Setting up a Microsoft Teams meeting is easy as there are numerous ways to do so based on your own preferences. Note: People you want to join the meeting outside of SMA do not need to have a Microsoft Teams account unless you require it.
Windows Outlook Desktop App
- Go to your Outlook Calendar.
- Click on New Teams Meeting at the top left of the ribbon.
- Fill out the details of the meeting (Title, Attendees, Start/End Times, etc.).
- For more advanced options click on Meeting Options (who can present, bypass the lobby, chat, etc.) at the top.
- Click Send when done.
Microsoft Teams Desktop App (both Windows and macOS)
- Go to the Calendar in Teams.
- Select New Meeting at the top right.
- Fill out the details of the meeting (Title, Attendees, Start/End Times, etc.).
- Notice on the right side you can select more options like bypassing the lobby, who can present, chat, etc.
- Click Send when done.
- Link to the meeting is automatically added to the invitation.
Quick Teams Meeting Setup Outlook Desktop App for macOS and Outlook Web Calendar App
- Go to your Outlook Calendar.
- Select New Event.
- Toggle the "Microsoft Teams" switch to ON.
- Fill out the details of the meeting (Title, Attendees, Start/End Times, etc.) and click Send when done.
- Meeting is set up with your default options so it may allow everyone to bypass the lobby, chat, etc.
- Link to the meeting is automatically added to the invitation.
