To clean the nozzle:
- Use the little red sponge in the green kit found on the counter or in the cabinets below the printers to gently remove the filament from the nozzle. One gentle swipe usually grabs what it needs.
To clear the filament from clogged nozzle:
- Move the green tab on the hot end so it’s positioned toward you.
- On the 3D printer's LCD screen, go to Change Filament > Load > Preheat PLA (rotate to select and press button).
- Once done, the printer should prompt you to start loading the filament.
- Gently guide the filament from the spool through the tube until you feel it grab securely. It should start purging any filament in its system. You may be prompted to purge it again (useful when only a little comes out).
- Once it has a good purge, move the green tab halfway between the front and back. If the filament does not get purged, DO NOT PRINT and email Tech Help.
NOTE: The scraper is used to remove prints from the bed. Please do not use the scraper to clean the bed; it is only for popping prints off the print bed. Scraping scratches the bed and would require us to replace it.
