Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Power Up Turn on the main power for the podcast equipment. All devices need to be powered up before you begin. |

2. Log In to the Sound Board At the sound board, enter the password: Spotlight (capital S, all other letters lowercase) |

3. Check the Sound Levels On the left side of the mixing board, locate the three panels used for podcast volume control. Have someone speak into the mic with the studio door closed to get an accurate reading. Use the sliders to adjust the volume up or down depending on the speaker’s voice.

4. Set Up for Recording • Plug a USB drive into the slot labeled "iPad" on the soundboard. USBs can be found in the Digital Studio supply closet. • Tap the USB symbol on the screen. • Hit the record icon (it looks like a circle) at the top of the screen. • Press the forward arrow to start a new recording file. |

5. Record the Podcast Speak clearly into the mic. Monitor the soundboard periodically to ensure levels remain steady and below the red zone. |

6. Stop and Save • When finished, press the stop button (square icon). • Then press the button next to the stop icon to confirm saving. • Rename the file: Tap the file name, enter a clear and specific title. Hit Enter to save it. |

7. Wrap Up • Safely remove the USB drive. You can then use the adapters to copy the contents from the USB to your laptop. • Turn off all equipment — double-check that all lights are off. |
