St. Mary's Academy utilizes Microsoft 365 (formerly Microsoft Office 365). A "one-stop shop" for email, online file storage/sharing (OneDrive), video collaboration, applications, etc. To set up the various options below you will only need to know your username@smapdx.org and password.
Accessing Microsoft 365 from an internet browser (Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc.), go to https://login.microsoftonline.com. Please keep your browser and computer regularly updated to help minimize phishing and/or other malware that may take advantage of out-of-date browsers.
Microsoft Desktop Applications on Personal Computers
With our Microsoft 365 subscription, students (and families) may download Microsoft 365 to their home PC or Mac (up to 5 devices total, which includes the iPad). Please remember that wherever you install M365, that computer will have access to your SMA OneDrive files, email, etc., so be careful where you install it. Here are the steps:
- Make sure the device/computer is fully updated.
- Go to https://login.microsoftonline.com and log in with your SMA account.
- Click on Install and more at the top right and select Install Microsoft 365 apps.
- On the next window, click Install Office.
- Follow the next steps. Depending on your network connection, this can take some time to install.
- When finished, it is a good idea to reboot your computer before opening one of the Microsoft apps.
- Be sure to keep your device up to date with all updates that are available to keep your account and our SMA system secure.
Email Access from Smartphones
- For the Outlook App on a smartphone Add Account > Office 365 (or Exchange)> and add your @smapdx.org credentials.
OR
- For the iOS Mail App go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange > and add your @smapdx.org credentials. Note: Email can be set up on other smartphone mail Apps in a similar manner. If presented as an option do not select Outlook or Outlook.com for the type of account as this will likely fail.
Note: If you are using a different application to access email Microsoft made a change where basic authentication is no longer supported. Here are the settings to be used with mail applications that are not able to be set up automatically with Exchange:
