The following are basic instructions for connecting your Apple or Windows device to the Airtame device in your classroom or common space. Works similar to the Apple TVs, but with a bit more functionality.
At the bottom of the screen, you should see a similar banner to the one above.
-------------
The area indicated by “Testing-Commons-Future” above will reflect the room you are on located. This is the device you connect to screencast in your room.
-------------
This is a reminder that your device should be connected to the network to use Airtame.
-------------
These are the methods you can use to connect to Airtame to screencast. You can still use AirPlay from Apple devices as you normally would. On Windows laptops, you use the “Windows Key + K” to connect to these devices instead of AirParrot.
- For presentations (PowerPoint, etc.), we recommend that you use Windows + K.
- For showing videos (YouTube, etc.), use AirParrot clicking on this icon next to the room you want to connect:
- Note: Videos are best viewed when devices are hardwired to the display as they are less reliant on two-way wireless connections weaving in between network traffic.
When you are done screen casting, simply disconnect.
-------------
If you are in a shared space like the Boyle Center or the Commons, it is tied to the room calendar which will display the next time the room is reserved.

FAQs
- What HDMI port is the Airtame connected to on projector and screen displays? Typically, it is connected to HDMI 1 (where the Apple TV was connected). If your display is blank, try switching back and forth between HDMI 2 and HDMI 1. If still not appearing, if you can safely do so, unplug the Airtame device for about 10 seconds and plug back in.
- Can you stream a movie using Airtame? Yes, but the video/audio may pause from time to time as playback is affected by network traffic. Better to hardwire your computer for a smoother playback experience.
- Can you hardwire and connect a device to the display? You can but it is not recommended as they use two different HDMI ports.
- How do the devices show up on the list of devices to screencast? The rooms that have the Airtame device begin with AT- showing up at the top which is slightly different which begin with ATV-. Like the Apple TVs, your Airtame may not show up right away.
- Is there a code to connect to them? Yes, it will display on the screen when you initiate the connection.
- Will the Airtame allow for extended screen mode? Yes, it can do both Extended and Duplicate.
- If someone tries to connect while someone else is connected, will it "bump" the other person off? No. The person currently connected needs to disconnect before another can connect.
